Concerts and Tickets

The Atlanta Chamber Players have a long and distinguished history of commitment to educational outreach, having presented educational concerts in 18 states and more than 200 U.S. cities.

Partnerships

The Atlanta Chamber Players have developed multiple partnerships with Youth Ensembles in the metro-Atlanta area through master classes, concerts, and having composers speak with their classes.

University Residencies

Shortly after the Atlanta Chamber Players were founded in 1976, we began to offer educational concerts at Agnes Scott College, where we were in residence until 1980. ACP was the first Candler Ensemble-in-Residence at Emory University and from 1982-1987 presented six educational performances each semester. The group was in residence at Georgia State University 1991-2007 and served as Ensemble-in-Residence at Kennesaw State University 1996-2003, relationships that included master classes, coaching of student ensembles and lecture concerts for music majors, in addition to public concerts.

National Educational Concerts

ACP was a winner in 1979 of the first national round of the prestigious C. Michael Paul Chamber Music Residency Program, administered through Chamber Music America in New York, through which the group performed dozens of community outreach services. In 1980 we were appointed to the Southern Arts Federation Performing Arts Touring Program and subsequently presented scores of educational residencies in nine southern states. These communities ranged from Roanoke, Virginia to Hattiesburg, Mississippi and from Louisville, Kentucky to Key West, Florida and residencies were presented to kindergarten students, university music majors and senior citizens alike.

LLocal Educational Concertsocal Educational Concerts

In 1982 the Young Audiences chapter was begun in Atlanta and the Atlanta Chamber Players were immediately appointed to the roster. Since that time we have presented numerous school concerts in all corners of metro Atlanta and have been involved in two pilot educational programs that presented educational services in every elementary school in the City of Decatur school system.

Special Audiences

Annually since 1979, the ACP has performed scores of concerts for special audiences, first through Special Audiences, Inc., then Arts for All and VSA Arts of Georgia. Through educational events coordinated by these agencies, ACP has performed for physically, emotionally and economically challenged audiences of every age group.
